The capital Sofia might have a well-deserved reputation as a boozer’s paradise, but Borovets has claimed the title ‘Snow Ibiza’. The range of cheap alcohol on offer is staggering, vastly cheaper than Austrian & French resorts. We did the bar crawl on a Monday night. We hit at least 3 or 4 busy bars before ending up in a club. Our guide was called Nera and she was awesome. Great fun and she knew the best bars in Borovets to rock into. The bar owners seemed to know her and we got served a lot quicker. Free drinks on arrival; no queuing; no hassle! There was myself and 3 of my friends, a couple from Holland and a small stag party from the UK and a few Ozzie’s in our group. Everyone got on really well. I would say if you are in Borovets with a group of friends, this is worth doing one night. If you are a larger group you would be better booking a private bar crawl.

I went to Bulgaria with 3 of my best girl friends in March. It was brilliant fun. Great snow and ridiculously good value. We joined one of the Go-Bo bar crawls and met loads of super nice people. It was hilarious. We ended up doing karaoke altogether in the Black Tiger. Our guide Georgi was hilarious and kept the party moving. Definitely worth the money.

Booked last minute for our Bulgaria ski stag do. It was really good fun as our guide totally tailored it to our group. We started in BJ’s playing this funny game of hammering nails into a tree trunk and carried on through the ski village. Every where she took us was good fun and it really took the pressure off my shoulders. The resort is easy to get around but when you are trying to mobilise 15 blokes its like herding cats; so having a bar crawl guide was a good call. The best nightlife in Borovets is found at the top of the high street in my opinion, all cheesy but very affordable. You can't spend your money out there, its so cheap.
