Overview
The Rila mountains are hiding some of the most beautiful hiking trails in Europe. Rising to around 2600m peaks, this area offers some of the most magnificent views over Bulgaria’s lake region. Explore the beautiful Rila mountain and lake areas with our guides and give the groom an experience he won't forget.
Bulgaria’s largest mountain range is ‘the Rila Mountains’ which contains more than 150 lakes; and so it hides some of the most beautiful hiking trails in this part of the Europe. If you are after an active stag weekend, we ensure you that the Rila mountains will be worth every moment you spend exploring it’s paths.
Our usual hiking route will take you through wonderful ancient alpine forests all the way to rocky terrain to be rewarded by the beautiful views from the mountains.
Contact us and we’ll discuss the best possible options for your stag do. For ski stag weekends in Bulgaria, we can also recommend our snow shoeing hikes.
For stag parties there are 3 hiking options to book: easy, medium and advanced. There is also a choice of whether you want a guided route or a self guided route. Moderate to good fitness levels are recommended. At the end of our routes, we'll create a BBQ for the lads. Of course beers included.
Activity name: Hiking
Easy ‘guided’ route: 40 LEV per person, 2-3 hour hike
Medium ‘guided’ route: 80 LEV per person, 4-5 hour hike
Difficult ‘guided’ route: 120 LEV per person, 7-8 hour hike
Previous experience: For our easy route anyone is welcome to try as long as they have a moderate level of fitness | for medium and difficult routes we require minimum good fitness level and prior hiking experience
Includes: Transfers to start point, lunch BBQ and beers, cake for the groom. Please not alcohol is prohibited during the activity, until the end point.
Excludes: We require all persons must bring their own rucksack with 1L water, hats, sun cream and sturdy hiking foot wear
Availability: Daily from 1st May – 31st September, not available on Tuesdays.

My friend (the groom to be) and I are amateur hikers and we took the opportunity to book the medium hiking day tour as part of Mikes stag party in Bulgaria. Our guide Milana was lovely. So knowledgeable and friendly and she took us to some stunning spots. Energy wise I would say it was well pitched and well organized.

Visited the Rila National Park with 20 friends as part of our Sofia stag weekend. We loved the open nature and felt like we had it quite exclusively to ourselves. Our guide was great and even though we did the difficult route to the summit we found it within our capabilities. Definitely worth doing, assuming you like nature and hiking of course!

We did the easy route where we took the Gondola up and hiked on from there. Views were breathtaking. So glad we plucked up the courage to give this a go, all the lads loved it. My fitness was moderate at best but I managed just fine. Highly recommendable.
